For God is not a God of disorder but of peace—as in all the congregations of the Lord’s people.
(1 Corinthians 14:33)
While the global pandemic has forced us to do things which we have previously taken for granted differently, the Port of Spain Church of Christ is embracing what is undoubtedly a whole new world of worship and fellowship.
Like many churches around the world, we are exploring the option of Sunday Worship Services and Mid-Week services being fully online. By using the online meeting service Zoom, early results show a level of engagement many among us never expected. (Click here for our most recent one by J. Tyrone Marcus.) Future services will be posted here at poscoc.org, as well as distributed via social media as they are scheduled. Family groups are also encouraged to meet using this service as an option, or any other suitable means that is accessible by as many persons as possible.
In the midst of trials, we are asked to continue praying for God to lead us through them. To this end, the International Churches of Christ have designated this Thursday, March 26th, as an International Day of Prayer. See the video below for more details.
Finally, as Christians, we must all remember to do our part to maintain relationships in the body as we maintain our connection to God. To do this, consider the following:
- Have you been asking questions about the condition of your brothers and sisters during COVID-19?
- Do they have food/access to food, medical supplies, sanitizers, etc?
- Are they in their Bibles?
- Are the Christians obeying the governing authorities?
- Is everyone ALL IN?
Let’s all remember to keep our focus on what matters during this time. It will undoubtedly be difficult, but with God on our side, it’s going to be worth it.
